BENEDICT CENTER INC

Milwaukee, WI – The Benedict Center provides services and advocacy for women in the criminal justice system so they can live safer, healthier lives for themselves, their children, and the community. Several programs are offered by the Benedict Center including the Women’s Harm Reduction Program, and the Women’s Reentry Program. These programs help women begin their healing journey with specially designed courses to address substance abuse, trauma, and violence.

BREAD OF HEALING CLINIC INC

Milwaukee, WI – What makes the Bread of Healing Clinic unique is they are a neighborhood-based free medical clinic designed for individuals with fi nancial or other barriers to quality health care. They also offer medical care coordination to guide uninsured patients in meeting their social service needs. Their Medshare Program teams up with other free clinics in the Milwaukee area to increase consistent access to free medications and vaccines. Patients can manage their health conditions through timely health visits.

HIR WELLNESS INSTITUTE INC

Milwaukee, WI – Healing Intergenerational Roots, or HIR, strives to increase mental health accessibility to those seeking health services within Indigenous and under-served communities. Their programs help those suffering substance use, suicidality, grief, historical trauma, and persistent toxic systems and environments. The vision of this institute is to create future leaders and healers for the next generation, with respect to their relationship with one another and our ancestors.

LITERACY SERVICES OF WISCONSIN

Milwaukee, WI – This organization has a mission to provide interested adults access to quality, basic education, and skills training so they can improve their lives and strengthen their communities. Their programming supports a wide range of student academic goals which might include learning to read, obtaining a high school credential, increasing language fl uency, preparing for post-secondary options, or skilled trades training. LSW strives to meet the complex needs of all adult students.

MOORING PROGRAMS INC

Neenah, WI – The Mooring Programs offers aid to those negatively impacted by substance use disorders. To do this they offer a full spectrum of care services including treatment, employment, and support services in a safe, progressive recovery community. Their residential treatment services offer a men’s facility as well as a women’s that provides a home-like setting. Upon completion, patients are offered aftercare support which provides a nurturing atmosphere where individuals are empowered to continue their recovery.

THE WOMEN’S CENTER INC

Waukesha, WI – Established in 1977, The Women’s Center has operated the only 32-bedroom shelter for survivors of child abuse, sexual and domestic violence, and traffi cking. Their mission is to ensure that the needs of survivors are met, and families lead lives free of violence. At the Women’s Center staff have the expertise and experience to help individuals heal and achieve a more peaceful life. Some of the services provided are a 24-hour hotline, one-on-one support, and onsite childcare.
