PHILIPPINE CULTURAL & CIVIC CENTER

Milwaukee, WI – After opening its door to the community in 2000, the Philippine Cultural and Civic Center have been providing the community with much needed services and resources. Their medical clinic provides free medical care and medications for under/uninsured people. This also includes free health screenings, reading eyeglasses and clothes. Their staff provides information on breast cancer awareness, smoking cessation, and the importance of medical and dental care.

MILWAUKEE RIVERKEEPER

Milwaukee, WI – Founded in 1995, this organization is a science-based advocacy group that works for swimmable, fi shable rivers throughout the River Basin’s three major waterways: the Milwaukee River, the Menomonee River, and the Kinnickinnic River. They have just recently completed their 29th Annual Spring Cleanup which engaged more than 4300 volunteers at over 90 sites throughout the river basin. Their community-wide effort removed more than 100,000 pounds of waste this year.

URBAN ECOLOGY CENTER

Milwaukee, WI – The Urban Ecology Center is a transformative, nature-based organization located across three park spaces in Milwaukee. The Center offers innovative environmental education programs for all ages, community and science research, after-school programs, community gardens, environmental justice programs, and a robust accessible trail system. The Center is recognized as a national model for utilizing green space in cities and increasing access to nature.

WAUKESHA HUMANE SOCIETY

Waukesha, WI – The Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County leads the community in animal welfare and assures sanctuary for animals in need. Services provided are pet training and behavior where experienced professionals are dedicated to helping clients bring out the best in their dog or cat, and to understand their pet on a deeper level. They strive to abide by the least intrusive, minimally aversive values so that the client’s pet can feel safe in their learning journey.

WISCONSIN WETLANDS ASSOC.

Madison, WI – The Wisconsin Wetlands Association is dedicated to the protection, restoration, and enjoyment of wetlands and linked ecosystems through science-based education and advocacy programs. They do this by working with agencies, elected offi cials, and other decision makers to develop and implement policies, rules, and funding sources to support and advance healthy wetlands in Wisconsin. With the help of its members over the years, their efforts have protected wetlands when they are threatened.

YMCA

Milwaukee, WI – The Young Men’s Christian Association has served the Milwaukee community continuously for 165 years. Since its inception, the YMCA and its cause driven programming have provided safe and healthy opportunities for community members of all income and backgrounds. Its doors are open seven days a week and offers life enhancing programs for infants, children, families, seniors, and those with special needs throughout the city.
