FAMILY SHARING OF OZAUKEE CO.

Grafton, WI – Since 1973 this organization has been helping economically challenged Ozaukee County residents by providing basic everyday necessities and healthy groceries. In 2022 Family Sharing launched three outreach programs to get food to those in need who are unable to get to the pantries due to mobility challenges. In addition to the outreach programs, Family Sharing also offers contactless pantry pick-up, in-pantry shopping, and a bag in Back Packs program.

FRIEDENS COMMUNITY MINISTRIES

Milwaukee, WI – Founded in 1978, Friedens Food Ministries operates food pantries that have a goal to build positive community engagement through nourishment. The food pantries have grown into Milwaukee’s largest network of food centers that provide over one million pounds of free food to 45,0000 families and individuals annually. The Community Food Centers are cutting edge as they offer a place where neighbors can select and prepare free, quality food with dignity while building positive lasting relationships.

HOPE HOUSE OF MILWAUKEE

Milwaukee, WI – For over 35 years Hope House was created with a vision of local churches to address homelessness in the city of Milwaukee. Hope House has evolved from a short-term shelter into long-term housing facility and community center that offers numerous programs and activities that assist men, women, and children suffering with homelessness. Additionally, Hope House has partnered with Milwaukee Area Technical College that provides a bilingual GED program.

META HOUSE

Milwaukee, WI – Establishing themselves as a trauma-informed and gender specific treatment facility for women in 1982, Meta House follows a holistic treatment model. After identifying and addressing all the obstacles that their clients face as women and mothers, Meta House became recognized as one of the first residential treatment centers that welcome children into the treatment setting. Their services include parenting education, infant health, and family interaction support.

MIDWEST INDIAN MISSION

Crandon, WI – After originally holding bible camps in the Forest County WI area since 1964, the Midwest Indian Mission witnessed an urgent need for two community services in the area. The first was a food pantry as food costs continue to soar. Last year they served 400 families feeding over 1200 people. The second is emergency shelter that has case managers working hand-in-hand with residents to not only find permanent residences, but gain access to community resources that they need to achieve stability in their lives.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL OF MILWAUKEE

Milwaukee, WI – Originally formed in Paris in 1833, the organization’s leadership found its way to Milwaukee in 1849. Their mission is dedicated to the elimination of hunger and poverty throughout Milwaukee County. In addition to providing a free Meal Program at two sites, St Vincent de Paul also takes on broader activities such as operating two thrift stores that offer household essentials, clothing, and furniture. On average their program serves over 1,000 neighbors in need weekly.
